Christmas in a Box 2021

Our Christmas in a Box project is back!

Help make Christmas special for hundreds of families in Gravesham. Last year your donations raised more than £10,000 and helped more than 100 families with a hamper containing food, Christmas treats, household essentials and a family game.

This year we’re aiming to help 150 families.

How can you help? Donate to our crowdfunding page: https://bit.ly/3CdINcq
Or drop off goods here at The Grand Healthy Living Centre in Gravesend town centre. All non-perishable foods, household essentials and new toys welcome. Sadly we can’t accept fresh foods at this time.

If you’re a local business and would like to get involved please contact us at hello@thegrand.org.uk

Each hamper contained non-perishable foods, household essentials, soap and body care products as well as Christmas treats and a small gift for each child in the family.

Several Gravesham businesses got involved last year, donating foods and goods including, Morrisons supermarket, Gillingham Street Angles and CVS from Northfleet with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Pelham Road providing a hall to the team to work from.

The project was the brainchild of Molly Hepburn and run by a partnership of organisations including The Grand Healthy Living Centre, Gifted Young Generation, KCC Gravesham Youth Hub, Kuflink Foundation, Thamesview School, Milestone and The Be More Foundation to name a few.

Molly said, “We had an incredible number of donations last year, and the impact these had on other people’s lives was astounding. We were overcome by the reaction we had delivering the boxes to people last December. The past 18 months has been incredibly difficult, but here in Gravesham we have seen people pull together more than ever.

“We may not be in a lockdown this year but rising prices for foods and energy are stretching some people’s income to the limit. We’re appealing for donations of foods and toys from the public, we’ll be setting up donation points in Gravesham, including at The Grand Healthy Living Centre in Gravesend town centre for people to drop off items. This year we hope to help even more people and spread some Christmas cheer.”

Below are a few pictures for the project, with the incredible donations we received from Berkley Homes, NWK CrossFit Gravesend, Gravesend’s Gurdwara and local groups and families. Thank you for making this possible.
